Ch 3-The image of Gold and Fiery Furnace

Daniel’s three friends refusecto bow down to worship an image of gold of King Nebuchadnezzar.

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”-Ch 3:17-18, NIV.

Nebuchadnezzar’s praise to the God of Shadrach, Melshach and Abednego. He decrees… vs 28-29

Ch 4:1-37 Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of a Tree; Daniel’s interpretation of the Dream; fulfillment of the Dream. Nebuchadnezzar being humbled…driven away from the people..eat grass like a cattle..praise God, acknowledged God sovereignty vs 34-35…; sanity restored..kingdom restored vs 37.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble-vs 37, NIV.

Th: God’s greatness is acknowledged by the king of a great Babylonian empire.

Ch 5, the Wrting on the Wall.

King Belshazzar..banquet..gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar..had raken from the temple in Jerusalem., so that the king and his nobles, his woces and his concubunes might drink from them…vs 2-3.

Supernatural..Suddenly the fingers of a human appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall. ..face turned pale..

There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods…Daniel..the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solce difficult problems vs 11-12.

Reward for interpretation of the writing vs 7; Daniel turned down this reward vs 17.

Daniel interpreted the writings vs 18-28. Daniel’s promotion vs 29.

Fulfillment of the writing-Belshazzar slained..Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the,age of sixty-two-vs 30.
