On heart steadfastness, God’s love and help

Psalm 108:1-13

HL & TH

King David’s heart (vs 1) is 100% steadfast in God; immovable faith-total reliance/dependent on His protection, help and deliverance from his enemies. No wonder is called a man after God’s heart

…praise…sing..with musical instruments…

Vs 4-6 on God great love.

4. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

5. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

6. Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.

vs 13 With God, we shall gain the victory…

TH: Our present life: unnecessary afflictions through our sins or iniquities-Psalm 107:12, 17…bitter labour, affliction. Choose blessings instead through obedience in worshipping the Almighty Sovereign God and serving Him.

Th: All of us including atheist, haters of God and non-believers have to give account to God one day.

Perfect and pride

Luke 18:18-30

Pride…keeps all the commandments but lack one thing…to be perfect…sell everything you will and give it to the poor…have treasures in heaven vs 23…camel to go through the eye of a needle…vs a rich man to enter the kingdom of God…who then can be saved vs 26.
Realistically, how many can do this? Needs his grace to be saved.

God the counselor, the disciplinarian, justice vs 11-12
God, the Almighty-full of wonderful deeds vs 24-27…just need to speak and it happens vs 25…the power of his word….spoke and stirred up a tempest vs 25.

Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth…vs 9 Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.

Vs 7-10 Despite all the great miracles God performed, they were soon forgotten vs 13.
Sinful ungrateful lot-envious of Moses and of Aaron vs 16, no difference from other human beings; God punished or handed them over to their enemies…vs 6, 15-23.
…heard their cry; vs 45 for their sake he remembered his covenant…out of his great love he relented
Vs 19 At Horeb they made a calf…exchanged their glory for an image of a bull…Note: their glory…
Vs 29…provoked the LORD to anger by their wicked deeds…sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons…shed innocent blood…

..heard their cry; vs 45 for their sake he remembered his covenant…out of his great love he relented.

48. Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the LORD.
