Lazarus event is to bring glory to God-a special event.
Lazarus although raised to life will die again whereas Jesus resurrection has a new body later ascended to heaven.
Lazarus died for four days, where does his soul goes during this time? Jesus still able to bring him back.
…who believes in me will live, even though he dies; whoever lives and believes in me will never die vs 25-26.
John 9

Not his sins or his parents sins, but for the work of God might be displayed in his life vs 3. Can sound a bit unfair to this man for not having sight for so long yet God’s purpose is more important.
Jesus…I am the light of the world and he exhibits this in restoring the sight of this man without surgery…divine power. TH: not becos of karma.
TH: Just as this man has been assigned for a purpose so too Christ was sent to earth for a purpose to fulfill God’s sovereign plan-beside saving us but also identify with our suffering on the cross.
Proverbs 10:19-21

19. Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
20. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
21. The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense.
Be a man of few words and increase active listening through discipline, calmness, and comfortable with silence-my right.
Romans 4

…Abraham did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith..gave glory to God…credited to him as righteousness vs 20-23
Simply trust God able to deliver what He has promised; in other word, trust God’s character and God delights in this faith.
Likewise we are justified by faith in believing God who raised Jesus our LORD from the dead for our sins and was raised to life for our justification vs 24.
Emulate Abraham’s faith.
John 8:1-58

…hold to my teaching…really my disciples…know the truth, and the truth will set you free vs 31-32.
Jesus gave testimony on himself that he is the truth from the Father in heaven and does what what he has seen and heard. Also who are following God would know he is telling the truth. He even disclosed himself as was already there with God before Abraham was born vs 58.
Those accused him of telling lies belong to the devil who tell lies like a native language vs 44.
Romans 2

Do good…do not store up God’s wrath against yourself vs 5…stubborness and unrepentant heart.
Persist in doing good, seek glory, honour and immortality…will give eternal life vs 7.
Self seeking, and reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger vs 8.
For God does not show favourism vs 11.

John 5:1-15

Jesus healed the man on a Sabbath day. He had been invalid for thirty-eight years.
Funny question by Jesus: do you want to get well? Vs 6…cannot assume and want to hear from the horse mouth even though he knows the answer as both divine and man.
In this instance his invalid status is due to some sins in the past vs 14. Warning: would be in worst state if he continues to sin as before.
Was he the only been healed that day? Why select him only? vs 3.
